Ever since that fateful day, I became an expert at avoidance.

Avoiding attachments. Avoiding relationships. Avoiding love.

My company became my constant, the only companion I needed… until a chance encounter with Jules Weston. I met her at a most vulnerable moment. Despite the tears that streaked her face, I fell in love the first time I ever laid eyes on her. I needed her in my life.

She was broken, but I knew I could heal her. I would wait until she let me into her heart, allowing me to love her. And maybe, just maybe, one day she could heal me too.

What I thought pink
I’ve loved everything about S.L. Scott’s From the Inside Out series. The premise alone is enough to get me excited. A series of four books about Juliet, Dylan and Austin, with a chance to choose the ending you want. It’s not just a series, it’s an event, and one that everybody should be part of.
Because I don’t want to spoil the story for you, my review is going to be deliberately vague. The set up of the four books is this; Jude is a girl who has been hardened by lost love, still bitter three years after her college sweetheart, Dylan, left her, taking nearly everything they owned except for a shiny coffee machine. He never told her why, he never gave her any closure, leaving her wondering what went wrong and unable to move forward in life.
Three years later, she bumps into Dylan again, and though she’s angry with him, the spark still remains. At the same time, she starts to see Austin–a client of her business and a rich, succesful businessman. But with her heart torn in two, who will she choose?
The answer is; whoever you want her to choose. That’s the beauty of the series, you get to go with whichever hero you prefer. I loved Austin–he was gorgeous, succesful and truly in love with Jude, so I’m completely team Austin. But there are Dylan supporters too–and they’re just as vocal about their hero, loving his bad-boy edginess, and the second chance they both have in love.
So there you have it, not only are the four books a wonderful read, they’re also the chance to have the author go the way you want her to. And if you’re in the middle, why not buy them both?

Into the New

new things2

This has been a week to learn new things. Sometimes they can be scary. Sometimes they can be amazing. But always, they expand horizons, keep me on my toes and ensure I never get bored.

New Thing Number One  publish

I am being published in Brazil. This is so amazing to me. I’m more than excited to see my words translated into the beautiful Portuguese language, and can’t wait to hold that book in my hands. My lovely editor from Universo Dos Livros is already working on the translation, and we are hoping for a release date some time in the fall.

New Thing Number Two

google plusGoogle Plus. Am I the last one to the party? I’ve finally managed to get my google+ account up and running. I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to do next, but I’m having fun reading stuff and working out what I should post. If you’re over there and you fancy saying ‘hi’ then here is the link: https://plus.google.com/u/0/115611006918670657053/posts/p/pub

New Thing Number Three

youtubeI’ve recorded my first video, ready to upload to YouTube. I’m taking part in my lovely friend S.L. Scott’s read-a-long for her fabulous book The Resistance (if you haven’t read it yet, you should, and come join in the read-a-long). After about fifty tries and untold amount of laughter I’ve finally managed to get a passable recording of me reading an excerpt from her book. The wonderful new video will make its debut during the read-a-long on Facebook, but if I’m feeling brave, I’ll also post it here some time.

So there you have it. You can teach an old dog new tricks, particularly if they involve books. Have a fabulous weekend everybody. I’m off to a party tomorrow where, no doubt, I’ll learn a lot of new things 😉
