I can’t believe February is here already! Though I’m sad to see the time passing so quickly, I have to admit I’m looking forward to warmer days and longer evenings.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to update this blog, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy. In fact I’ve had my head down, writing and editing, as well as working on a few plans for future releases. So to get things up to speed, I’m going to do a little run down of everything that’s going on in my world!
A New Cover For Fix You
Fix You has had a makeover for the spring! And as much as I adored the blue snowflakes, I have to admit I was very excited to see the red cover. It’s up on all the usual retailers now, and I’ll be having some promo items created for it!

Broken Chords – Cover Reveal and Release Info
One of the things I’ve been busy working on is my next book. This is the second in the Love in London Series (Coming Down was #1) and is a stand alone story set in the same world. I’ll be revealing the cover on Monday 9th February, and it will be released on 26th February. I absolutely love the characters in this book, and can’t wait to share Alex and Lara with you. In the meantime, be sure to add to your Goodreads ‘to read’ shelf https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24599970-broken-chords
I’ll be signing at three different events in the UK this year, kicking off with The British Book Affair on 18th April in London. The following weekend (25th April) I’ll be at the Tattooed Bad Boy Author event in York (did I tell you that Alex in Broken chords is a sexy, tattooed singer?)
Finally, I’ll be signing at the Second City Author event in Birmingham in July. For more details hop over to my news page!
That’s it for now. Don’t forget to come and see my new cover on 9th February!
Wow, what a week it has been, and it’s only Tuesday! How did that happen? Some of you may be aware that I’ve been working with some lovely agents at the Bookcase Literary Agency, and I’m delighted to announce that my book Fix You has been acquired by Marcia Batista at Universo Dos Livros.
As the Brazilian publisher for books such as The Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Beautiful Bastard and Tangled, as well as the amazing new book Louca Por Voce by my lovely friend Andreia Leia, I’m so delighted to be part of Universo Dos Livros’ amazing catalogue of writers.
I’m also more than excited to see my words translated into Portugese, and on sale in Brazil. In fact, let’s have some champagne!
And since I never like to drink alone…
Flavia and Meire, who run the Bookcase Literary Agency, have been working so hard in selling the story, and I’m so pleased for all of us that we’ll get to see this hard work in paperback form. It was such a pleasure to meet with them at the London Book Fair in April, where we got to talk books, books and more books!
And in other–perhaps less exciting–news I’ve had the first feedback from pre-readers on my next book, ‘Coming Down’. Lots of great positive reviews, and some excellent suggestions to make it even better. I don’t have a confirmed date for releasing this one yet, but I’m so excited about this story, and can’t wait to share it with you. Sooner rather than later I hope!
So tonight I celebrate, and tomorrow I get back to editing. I’m so hyped up, I can’t wait!!
Have a great day, everyone!
Hey hey, how is everybody doing? So, I’ve been a little bit absent the past couple weeks (cover reveals excepted, because the lovely authors / bloggers tend to do all the work for me.) But I haven’t been totally useless, I’ve been busy ferreting away behind the scenes because …
…I’ve been getting ready to publish my second book. Most of you already probably know this from Facebook and Twitter, not to mention GoodReads, but just in case you didn’t:
I’M PUBLISHING FIX YOU!!
31st December 1999. Seventeen-year-old Brit, Hanna Vincent, meets New Yorker, Richard Larsen; a Columbia student and step-son of scion Leon Maxwell. Divided by wealth, distance and a common language, an unconventional friendship grows between the two.
From London to New York, from 1999 to 2012, Fix You follows the story of quirky, music-loving Hanna and handsome, driven Richard as they fall in love and are torn apart. Their tempestuous relationship leads to an explosive revelation that threatens to destroy them both.
Emotional and touching, this is a story of second chances. Is their shattered love beyond repair?
The story will be released on February 12th 2014, which just happens to be a big milestone birthday for me! I’m very much looking forward to sharing it with you.
Apart from getting Fix You ready to publish (which takes a large amount of my time up) I’ve also been writing up a storm. I’ve finished the first draft of Unexpected, a New Adult novel, and I’ve written the first few chapters of another full-length contemporary romance which is tentatively titled When You Come Down. On top of that I also have Halfway Hidden #2 to write! It’s a good job I love my laptop.
I hope you are all having a great weekend. Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow to see the Fix You Cover Reveal and let me know what you think.
In other news, for a limited time only, Halfway Hidden will be on sale for only 99c. Please spread the word!
Have a great break (if you get one) and I hope to have news of my next release up on the blog soon!
Halfway Hidden is the exciting new novella from debut author Carrie Elks. Keep reading for information on the book, where to buy, and an exciting giveaway.
Rachel Stone is stuck, contemplating that very question. Spending her time as a bartender in an isolated West Virginia town, she hides behind dark hair and an assumed name. She exists from day to day, trying not to let her past overwhelm her. When a tall stranger walks into the bar at closing time, her attempts at hiding turn to dust. Muscled and intense, he is attractive enough for Rachel to ignore her instincts and listen to her baser desires. As a storm brews in the skies of West Virginia, confusion builds in Rachel’s mind. What begins as flirtation explodes into a darker, more primal passion, leading her to question everything she thought she knew. While snow blankets the outside world, they are forced to remain inside, confronting their demons and the sizzling attraction between them. Submitting to their urges is easy; learning who to trust is anything but.
Carrie Elks lives near London, England and loves to write sexy stories with a dash of intrigue. At the age of twenty-one she left college with a political science degree, a healthy overdraft and a soon-to-be husband. She loves to travel and meet new people, and has lived in the USA and Switzerland as well as the UK. Nowadays, she spends her days sorting out people’s problems at work and her evenings glued to a computer keyboard. An avid social networker, she tries to limit her Facebook and twitter time to stolen moments between writing chapters. Her favorite authors include L.H. Cosway, Samantha Young, Cara McKenna and C.J. Roberts. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can usually be found baking, drinking wine or working out how to combine the two.
And now, without further ado, I present to you the cover for Halfway Hidden. I hope you love it as much as I do.
Mayhem Publishing’s After Dark imprint is pleased to reveal the cover for Carrie Elks’ forthcoming novella, Halfway Hidden.
